Monday the 6th was Opening Day for the most fantabulous sports season on Earth - Opening Day of MLB. So, seems to me like a reason to have a party! I may or may not have gone a little overboard with some of the pictures :-)
First Pitch of the Season!
Saturday we colored eggs, not for a hunt, but more for an artistic outlet during the insanity of packing for the move. Here's what we came up with:

More Baseball! This was actually a real game, so much more exciting than having to watch on tv. Over the winter, as Nick and I were talking about how much we missed baseball, we got a crazy hair one day and decided to plan times we could go to Denver to watch the Rockies...really, to watch some team we actually care about play the Rockies. So we found three series...Phillies, Cubs and Cardinals. The Cubs series is in August and the Cardinals will play in CO in September. How awesome is it the Phillies played in Co for the Rockies' home opener?? Awesome because someone I played home run derby with in Hegeler Park back in LaSalle, IL as an elementary and junior high school student plays for the Phillies. He's a real baseball player...and since Nick and I both really like baseball, this means we really like Chad Durbin. Chad and I connected on Facebook and he very awesomely arranged tickets for Nick and I and our friend Jeff for today's game. The tickets were incredibly sweet. Unfortunately, the weather was poo; rain and 40 degrees the entire time. I got to see Chad warm up in the bullpen and was amazed at how hard he can throw a ball and how effortless it looked. Then, he got in the game and pitched so awesome. He got the Phillies out of a jam and also got a single when he batted. It was so awesome when the Phillies came back and won the game. Wow! After the game, we got to talk to Chad...it was so awesome to see someone you knew when he was so little, never saw all of these great things coming, and to see his gift was so cool. As we walked away from our chat with him, Nick, Jeff and I were just amazed at how unpretentious Chad was, so down-to-earth, friendly and just genuinely nice. It definitely made the cold and rainy game worth it!
Editor's note: Just realized I used the words "awesome" and "cool" and other things just like those two words when describing today's game way too many times...

This week is moving week and it's safe to say we are soooo ready! We're really excited to have our own place, a nice house and especially at the thought of not having to move again for a long time! Next pics should be of the move and the new house!
