Eagle or Gypsum????

That is the question many people have when looking for a place to live. We have lived in both. Liked living in Eagle, more of a "town" feel, some shops and restaurants, nice parks, and more things to do. Gypsum has the rec. center, our school, and a BRAND NEW LIBRARY! Cayle and I went for lap reading time today at the new library. It was fantastic! Very nice! As much as I love Eagle and the nice things it offers, it's so nice having the rec. center and the new library only a mile from our house. Love going to reading time at the library with Cayle!

We are Gardeners....

I pulled a radish today, just to see if anything was growing on it... It was a mini version of what you see in the picture. It tasted fantastic! I just had a little bitty bite. Natalie tasted it, as did Jeff and Jess... I guess we may be growing a few things after all!! So exciting!

Dad left on Saturday morning, but we definitely had a good visit with him. We did lots of awesome mountain biking, Cayle got lots of tricycle rides, long boarding, relaxing, and some eating of course. Cayle loved spending time with grandpa!

Summer, summer...

I keep saying to Nick, we need to write a blog. About what? Hmmm, no clue. Nothing too exciting happening here. Which is what makes summer so awesome!

I am doing summer school each morning, which has turned out to be pretty uninteresting. The kids are doing great, no major concerns, which makes my life as the coordinator much easier. I only work from about 745-1145 each day - long enough for me to feel productive but short enough for us to still have plenty of relax time.

Most days we are getting out for a bike ride of some sort. I've been pulling Cayle in the Chariot a bit more...man, what a workout that is! It's awesome having time to just hang out on the back deck and relax...see the mountains, watch the birds, drink coffee :) Last Saturday we made a stop at the Minturn Market, then hiked up Two Elks for a bit. It was an awesome hike!
Cayle is getting better at his walking. He had a bit of a confidence lapse after falling into the couch pretty hard last week, but he's getting there! Cayle is also enjoying riding in his car and on his tricycle.
He's getting really good at trying to "tell" us what he wants - food, drink, go outside, look out the window...He absolutely loves his dogs. They're the first thing he looks for in the morning when he gets up.

We are getting so excited for Ronnie and Michelle's upcoming move to Colorado Springs. It will be awesome to have them so close (only 3 hours!). We are going down there next weekend to help them move in. I think they're pretty excited too, based on the countdown text messages I keep getting from Ronnie!

Nick's dad has been out the past few days spending lots of time riding bikes with Nick and playing with Cayle. It's been a great surprise visit!

First day of the First week

Today is the first day of the first week of summer school. Meaning it is the first day that I will stay at home with Cayle in the morning while Natalie goes to work. This is how it will be during summer school, but also during the school year next year, as I have switched jobs w/in the school and will work part time afternoons. I am excited to get to spend daily time with Cayle! Yesterday we went for a family bike ride up Valley road to Leed Reservoir. It was super nice! Blue skies and great temps!

This was Cayle playing in the grass post-ride. He had a great time!
Leed Reservoir.

The scenery was so beautiful, and we had a little snack at the top. Pita chips, hummus, and wine. Cayle got some yogurt and pita chips. What a gorgeous ride and day!

New Patio Furniture

Jeff and Jess just got some new patio furniture for their house, and we had not see it yet. They had a few people over to hang out in the sun and have some pizza on the deck. We attempted to play horseshoes until Jeff broke one of them in half....
Nice patio furniture!!! It looks eerily familiar for some reason....

Cayle must not have liked crawling on the wooden deck, because he kept crawling/walking on all fours like this. He is ready to begin walking, just doesn't have the confidence yet.
He was getting tired here, and decided to throw a little fit. 15 seconds later, he was playing with the dog and laughing while throwing yogurt everywhere....

Vail Pass

Cayle and I at the end of the Vail Pass bike path. A good 55 minute climb pulling the chariot! 75 and sunny! Cayle slept the entire time!
Natalie on her first road bike ride in over a year. She slayed it! We eventually got stopped by snow close to the top...

Cayle having some cheerios after he woke up when we got back down. We had cheese and crackers, and he was delighted to have his cheerios.
Cayle got some new play toys! A playhouse and a teeter-totter. He loves both of them. He plays in/on them daily, and loves it!

Loves sticking his tongue out while he plays! He hangs out in his playhouse by himself, and as long as people are outside, he watches out the windows of the playhouse.
More tongue.....

Almost...

Just finished our last FULL week of school!!! Yahoo!!! We finish this coming Thursday with a half day, then the staff party on Thursday afternoon. Monday this week is rafting, Tuesday - Worlds Fair, Wednesday - Field day, Thursday - finish things up and DONE! This week will fly by for sure!
Today we purchased the rest of our garden veggies. Tomatoes, peppers, squash, and a few strawberries for a big pot that we have. Loving the gardening experience so far. We have a few things starting to pop up, radishes will be done soon, and hopefully lettuce will take off as well, so we can have some fresh salads.

Tomorrow we are planning on biking up Vail Pass with Cayle... should be fun!
