Getting organized

For the last 5 weeks or so, I have been operating in "one-step behind" mode. Meaning I'm always one step (or more???) behind my typical self.

We leave for our beach vacation on Sunday. Typically, by now I would have a beautifully typed spreadsheet/list of what to pack and a few piles started throughout the house.  As of this evening I had put some recently purchased sand toys on a bench. So, I decided is better get things in gear. Enter exhibit A:

I'm making progress! Yippee!

But that's enough for tonight. So as soon as Kyler will allow, this vacation-packing mom is heading to bed!

Here's what happened...

I received the pic below from a friend. It was the thank you note I had sent him. The first thank you note I wrote after we became a family of five. The first note that made me realize it took a heck of a long time to write out all of our names. And that is why we have been absent from blogging...still getting settled with all five of us. But we're having lots of fun :)

#mommyfail

So, I posted the below pic on Facebook.
And I stated this is a pic of Kyler's first bath.

What I failed to mention on Facebook is the reason why this bath occurred when it did.  We had a babysitter due to arrive about 10 minutes after this photo was taken.  The babysitter is our regular girl and she was going to stay home with Cayle and Lindy while Nick and I took Kyler grocery shopping with us.  (I just wasn't ready for a 5-person grocery trip to Wal-Mart on the 4th of July...).

So, just prior to this photo being taken, I was changing Kyler's diaper.  Suddenly, Lindy comes up to me and she's attempting to remove her own diaper, which was obviously poopy (we're not making much progress on using the pot...yet!).  So, I had to stop messing with Kyler's diaper while I attempted to get Lindy's diaper situation under control.  In the three seconds I was helping Lindy, Kyler proceeded to poop and pee...all over herself and in her hair.  Gross.  And that's what led to Kyler's first bath at home.
