Our Journey

Not to brag or anything...
but I will. Nick had registered for a race in Steamboat Springs, CO before I ever applied for a job in IL, let alone before we figured out we were moving. Since he had a Vail Mountain Bike Series race and the Steamboat race within the same week, I had told him to make a trip back to CO and be able to do both races. He was a bit short on some of his training leading up to the races with all the packing/moving/unpacking. But I'm super-proud of him for his finishes in the two races he competed in this week. He came in 6th at Camp Hale and 46th (out of 106!) at the Steamboat Stinger. Nick never complains about his lack of training time or about unorthodox training times he has to use in order to prepare for his races. Now that we're back in Illinois, his racing will transition back to more road racing than mountain bike racing. Next week my mom, dad, sister, nieces, and cousin are all going to get a chance to watch Nick race in Bloomington. Should be a lot of fun :)
