March Madness!

The best time of the year in sports is when college basketball starts. The 2nd best sporting time of the year is when the NCAA tournament begins. Then MLB and yadda, yadda, yadda. But you get the point. NCAA tourney begins tomorrow!!! 3 weeks of great and intriguing basketball games! Natalie and I each have 2 brackets filled out, well actually, I have one, she has one, Cayle has 1 and Baby B #2 has one. I have Missouri winning it all, Natalie has Missouri, Cayle has North Carolina, and Baby B#2 has North Carolina as well... go figure, and we didn't talk to each other about our brackets either! I did Baby B's and Natalie did Cayle's and we came up with the same thing.... hopefully Missou and Carolina do well!

IL Basketball

I got so frustrated watching last year's basketball team. There was loads of talent, but they were consistently lacking on the effort end. I would much rather watch a team play with lots of effort and not have the talent. Of course it's always nice when they do have the talent to match the effort. That's when you get the teams like Kentucky, N.C, Duke, and Kansas. Talent and effort.

The good thing is that this year's IL team has the talent and play with the effort. The only thing that may be holding them back is some immaturity/lack of confidence which will result in some bad choices. That being said, I would much rather see a team play aggressive and make some mistakes, than a lazy team. Excited about the season after tonight's win vs. Maryland in the Big Ten/ACC challenge!

Cayle went to spend the afternoon with some friends, as his regular sitter was unavailable. They had a little basketball hoop set up. Apparently Cayle shot baskets all afternoon.... :-) It makes me laugh!

Spring

Is on the way! 70 and sunny here today! Forecast high of 45 and 10-16" of snow tomorrow... :( Spring in the rockies = unpredictable! I doubt we will get that much snow if any, just on how the season has gone so far, but I kinda like this nice sunny weather!

On a health note, everyone is feeling better! That was a nasty little bug that made it thru all our bodies, leaving destruction and lots of sickness in it's path... hopefully it's gone for a while now!

I think it's crazy and cool watching the differences in the talent levels between the lower level teams (Butler and VCU) and the major conference teams (UCONN and Kentucky.) The lower conference teams are able to be successful with stellar defense, rebounding, and teamwork. The bigger teams have superior athletes and talent. Not to say the big conference teams don't play hard and have to use teamwork, cause they do, but just saying the talent level is pretty noticeable and it's cool to see the smaller schools succeed!

Cayle has started throwing these little hissy fits, and it's pretty annoying... Got to find a way to let him know that he's not going to get what he wants, just by pouting. A friend told us the other day, that it's cute when he does it....... maybe it is, to an outsider, but when it's your own kid, it's not so cute... :) Not sure where he picked that up from, or if every kid goes through it?

ILL- INI

Lots of good college bball on the tube tonight. Saw a bunch of good games, a few blowouts, one HUGE upset in Mich. State, and also got to watch the ILLINI game. They played Yale, so the competition wasn't that great but they looked good! The look like they are finally starting to play together as a team a bit better, and may be buying into the motion offense. Unfortunately Cayle didn't get to watch it with me, as he was sleeping in preparation for Thanksgiving celebrations....
